About BLACK COFFEE

Black Coffee is a South African DJ and producer and one of the most influential figures in global electronic music. Born Nkosinathi Maphumulo in Umlazi, Kwa-Zulu Natal, he rose to international recognition with his self-titled debut album in 2003, introducing a deep, soulful interpretation of house music.

Over the years, he released critically acclaimed albums including “Africa Rising”, “Pieces of Me” and the Grammy-winning “Subconsciously”. His signature sound blends house, soul, jazz and traditional African percussion, often described as “Afropolitan House”.

Black Coffee has performed at major festivals such as Ultra Miami, Tomorrowland and Coachella and maintains a long-running residency at Ibiza’s Hï Ibiza. As a producer, he has collaborated with artists including Drake and Alicia Keys and earned an Executive Producer credit on Drake’s “Honestly, Nevermind”.

Beyond music, he is an active philanthropist through the Black Coffee Foundation and a successful entrepreneur, while remaining grounded and deeply connected to his cultural roots.
